Prairie Village is a special, almost magical, place. I ran for Mayor because I wanted to make sure we remained one of the most sought-after places to live, learn, shop, and do business in the region. During my first term, through the greatest external adversity we’ve ever faced, I fought successfully to maintain and enhance the attributes that make Prairie Village charming: We doubled our parkland; invested more in police, public safety, and roads; retained our top “tripleA” fiscal rating; held tax rates low; increased sustainability; led the region with health measures; strengthened neighborhoods; redeveloped commercial centers; increased transparency; encouraged diversity; and more. And we’re just getting warmed up. That’s why I’m running for re-election – to finish the work we started and ensure that Prairie Village stays on the right path.
-EricThe City of Prairie Village (the “Star of Kansas”) was originally the vision of the late J.C. Nichols, recognized as a City in 1951. Prairie Village is one of twenty cities in Johnson County and is the sixth largest in population with a residential population of approximately 23,000 within its 6.2 square mile city limits. Prairie Village is completely surrounded by other cities, sharing its eastern border, State Line Road, with Kansas City, Missouri. For more information about Prairie Village, see pvkansas.com
